# Celebrating 20 years of wellbeing

2024 has been an exciting year thus far for our organization. Not only have we announced our evolution to Personify Health, but this year also marks 20 years of our wellbeing platform.
That's 20 years of helping organizations—like yours—achieve their health and wellbeing goals. 20 years of guiding members on their journeys to lead healthier lives. 20 years of platform innovations to meet the ever-changing landscape. **And we’re just getting started.**

## A look back at how far we've come
#### 2004
#### A healthy idea is born
Sir Richard Branson created **Virgin Life Care**, a South African company under the Virgin Group. After moving to London, the company offered a flagship product for consumers to **self-manage their health through positive, daily habits**.
#### 2007
#### Adding professional perspective
Strengthened our pioneering position in health rewards programs and integrated evidence-based research by establishing our Science Advisory Board.
#### 2009
#### Throwing down a challenge
Challenged U.S. governors to compete in the **Capitol Steps Challenge** to raise awareness about the obesity epidemic.
Next, we also designated June as **Annual Employee Wellbeing Month** and expanded globally with our first international client.
#### 2012
#### **It's time to thrive**
Introduced our mobile app and **rebranded as Virgin Pulse**. Also, hosted our first-ever **Thrive Summit** to gather industry leaders and clients for education and networking.
#### 2015
#### **Launching our micro-learning methodology**
We expanded our award-winning solution suite with daily engagement tools, personalized micro-learning, and targeted communications - thus delivering the first global solution purpose-built to increase productivity and strengthen workforce cultures.
#### 2017
#### **Putting wellbeing on the map**
300K+ people participated in the first ever **Global Challenge**. Participants spanned 190 countries took a combined 319 billion steps and burned 12 billion calories during this 100-day health and wellbeing journey.
#### 2018
#### **Merging high tech with human touch**
The addition of **live health coaching**, **digital condition management**, and **closing gaps in care support** ensured we were the most complete high-tech, high-touch digital health and wellbeing experience on the market.
#### 2019
#### **Relevant content and relatable coaching**
Introduced **new Wellbeing Channels within the platform** – Safety, Sustainability, Diversity, Inclusion, Personal and Team Effectiveness – and a **new Health Risk Assessment with NCQA certified content**.
In addition, we expanded our global footprint with **Global Journeys** — making digital coaching available worldwide — and localized content in **20+ languages**.
#### 2020
#### **Transforming diabetes prevention**
Added a best-in-class diabetes prevention program. This digital therapeutic was the beginning of what is now available in our **Transform** solution including weight management and blood pressure.
#### **Simplifying benefits navigation**
Integrated benefits navigation directly into our digital platform - the beginning of our **Navigation & Advocacy** solution.
#### 2021
#### **Expanding health system and health plan support**
Expanded our health system and health plan support to include a multi-channel health CRM (ideal for **patient acquisition)** and **health communications** solutions.
#### **Launched VP+**
Virgin Pulse made it even easier to incorporate partners into a client's health and wellbeing program with **VP+** – one contract for all your population needs.
#### 2022
#### **Rethinking how people find care**
Further invested in our **Navigation & Advocacy Solution** to help people navigate healthcare with ease, advocacy, and cost transparency.
This simplified experience helps make it easy to understand what benefits and options are available, what’s covered and what’s not, and what the cost of care will be.
#### **Expanding the partner ecosystem**
Added **50+ point solutions** to our global partner ecosystem, enabling organizations to easily enhance their programs to better meet members' needs.
#### 2024
#### **Introducing... Personify Health**
With the goal of addressing the issues of increasing healthcare costs and complexity, **Personify Health** launches the industry’s first and only personalized health platform.
By breaking down traditional silos and rejecting a one-size-fits-all mentality, the platform brings together benefits design and delivery, holistic wellbeing, and comprehensive health navigation – all in one place.
