# Stronger Security, Global Access: One-Time Password Authentication

That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new enhancement to our login experience: One-Time Password (OTP) Authentication—a secure, globally accessible way to verify identity and keep accounts safe. 

 

## **🔐 What’s New?** 

Members now have the option to use One-Time Passwords (OTP) for logging into the Personify Health platform. This method replaces traditional SMS or email verification with a time-sensitive 6-digit code generated by an authenticator app. 

### Here’s How It Works: 

1. Members log in using their email/username and password. 
2. They open their authenticator app to retrieve a 6-digit code.
3. They enter the code to complete login. 

📱 Note: OTP requires the Personify Health app version 3.253.0 or higher and cannot be used in combination with SMS or email verification. 

 

## 🌍 Why It Matters 

OTP Authentication is a major step forward in our commitment to global security and accessibility. While SMS verification is limited to U.S. phone numbers, OTP works anywhere in the world, making it ideal for international members and travelers. 

### ✅ Key Benefits 

- Enhanced Security: OTP codes are harder to intercept or replicate, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. 

- Global Availability: No U.S. phone number required—members can authenticate from anywhere using their preferred authenticator app. 

- Seamless Experience: Quick, reliable login without waiting for texts or emails.  

 

## 🔧 Getting Started 

To set up OTP for your population, go to the Configuration Panel in your **Client Admin Portal. Next, s**elect OTP. Note, you cannot select OTP and SMS/Email at the same time.  

Once enabled, members will be prompted to configure OTP on their next login with the easy-to-follow instructions provided.
